Ink Garden
Jardin d'encres est un projet de fabrication d’encres botaniques qui seront ensuite utilisées pour créer des oeuvres sur papier. Ce projet abordera des thèmes écologiques par ses matériaux (encres non-toxiques faites à base de plantes) et sujets (paysages).

With the Jardin d'encres (ink garden) project, I explored botanical inkmaking from plants I foraged locally and grew in my garden. These inks are now being used to create a series of landscape paintings on paper, using elements of the landscape itself to paint it.

BOTANICAL INK EXPLORATION WORKSHOP
Come learn the basics of creating inks from local plants and materials, and discover how to make natural inks and charcoal sticks. Explore ink recipes and color extraction techniques from a variety of plants, such as sumac, goldenrod, black walnut, and elderberry. You will also learn how to modify the color of inks with mordants and by modifying the pH. Each participant will be able to experiment with botanical inks, and will receive a small bottle of ink to take home.

ATELIER D'EXPLORATION D'ENCRES BOTANIQUES
Venez apprendre à créer des encres naturelles à partir de plantes et de matériaux locaux, et à fabriquer des bâtons de fusain. Découvrez des recettes d'encre et des techniques d'extraction de couleurs de plantes variées (sumac, verge d'or, noyer noir, sureau, etc.) Vous apprendrez aussi à modifier la couleur des encres avec des mordants et en modifiant le pH. Chaque participant pourra expérimenter avec des encres botaniques et recevra une petite bouteille d’encre à emporter à la maison.
