Crystel Pereira est une artiste visuelle qui vit et travaille dans les Cantons-de-l’Est et Montréal. Elle a terminé son baccalauréat en peinture et dessin à Concordia en 2021, où elle a obtenu le prix Guido Molinari. Elle utilise principalement la peinture à l’huile, qu’elle travaille de manière écologique, sans pigments ou solvants toxiques.
Elle a participé à plusieurs expositions collectives et résidences d’artistes depuis 2019. Elle a reçu des bourses du Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec (2022, 2024) et du Conseil des arts du Canada (2023) pour créer des œuvres sur les thèmes de l’écoanxiété et la crise climatique. Ses oeuvres sont dans des collections privées, la Collection d’oeuvres d’art de la ville de Laval, et la Collection Art Volte.
Influencé par son temps dans la forêt, le travail de Crystel Pereira explore la crise climatique et notre relation avec l’environnement à travers la peinture de paysages contemporains. Elle travaille présentement sur une série de 365 paysages nocturnes de 8x10 pouces intitulé Une année de nuit.

EN - Biography and artist statement
Crystel Pereira is a visual artist who lives and works in the Eastern Townships and Montreal. She finished her BFA in painting and drawing at Concordia University in August 2021, where she received the Guido Molinari prize. She works mostly in oil paints, which she uses as ecologically as possible, with no toxic pigments or solvents. She also explores linocut printing and making botanical inks.
She has shown her work in various group shows, and participated in artist residencies since 2019. She has received grants from the CALQ (2022, 2024) and the Canada Council for the Arts (2023) to create work on the themes of ecoanxiety and the climate crisis. Her works are in private collections, as well as in the Art Collection of the City of Laval. In 2023, she was selected to be part of the new cohort of artists in the Art Volt Collection.
Influenced by her time in the forest, Crystel Pereira’s work explores the climate crisis and our relationship to the environment through contemporary landscape painting. She is interested in fleeting light effects, representing her surroundings, night painting, and the materiality of paint. She is currently working on a series of 365 small nocturne landscapes titled A Year of Night.
